Taking it slow….

Category: Photos, Places

Had to make a trip to Lowestoft and had around 30mintes free to get a few photos before i had to leave again.

So I went down to the south beach for some simple long exposures, due to the late summer we are having its not the most interesting for skies as its been hot and cloudless for the last week, so the skies are a bit boring but in the same way it maks the photos clean for this style of clean long exposures.

From the car park I walked 15mins down the beach and back again taking the odd photo as i came across various objects going out into the sea. I cant belive how quiet it was, for teh whole of the walk I didnt pass more than 10 people on the beach… I guess some people have to work :)

Most photos are 25-30 second exposures at high apertures to keep the depth of field. Due to the lack of colour in the sky and water, most are black and white, I will review some later for more drastic colours as I am looking for a new large print to hang on a wall :)

Walberswick

Category: Photos, Places

Went for a short trip to Walberswick, hoping for certain weather but didn’t get it, so made use of the visit to try a few things out and post processing of the photos.

Below are all edited if you didn’t already guess :)

Most are playing with different colours and contrasts of the photos, various compositions and just general playing around with the results of the visit.

Lucy – Various locations – pt2

Category: People, Photos

As a follow on to the previous post, here are the second and last set of photos from the short session with Lucy.

They are still from the walk along the waterfront and back in Ipswich, this time the sun has just about set and the last few are from after the sun has gone totally out of view.

I didn’t mention last time, but the photos are a mix of natural light, portable strobes and street and emergency lighting on buildings etc to illuminate Lucy. Not hard to figure out what is used in each photo if you look hard.

Anyway, back to the photos, more different edits in this next set, all part of what this session was about, different locations and different edits to see what works and what doesn’t.
